What’s the greasy substance that most football (soccer) players have on their shirt?

USA did play good but not enough for a team that has all tools and knowledge to win a game from the begging with, instead Brazil had a really hard time with the USA soccer team in South Africa today.
Is it that USA team is getting more professional or Brazil with less performance in the field.

I’ve been playing football games, Pro- Evo and Fifa for ages but cannot figure out this position please could you help?
