Do you kick a football(soccer ball) high with the instep or the inside of the instep?

Which part of the foot do I use to kick it high and which part of the football do I kick. Give me ots of info. People just say inside of foot. But part of the inside. Give me more info. How do I structure my foot to hit it with the instep?

You want to strike the ball with the inside/top of your foot even with your laces. angle your foot like a 9-iron in golf.

If you strike just below the center of the ball, and lean back a little, you’ll be able to “chip” the ball high.

Both, depending on what you are wanting to do.

To kick it high in the air, you can either chip it or drive it. To drive it, approach the ball from an angle (about 45 degrees), take a couple running steps at the ball and swing your leg through, locking your ankle with your food at an angle to the ball. Hit the ball low. Kind of snap with the knee, don’t swing from the hip. You will hit the ball right on top of your shoe, where your shoelace knot usually is. To chip, approach the ball more straight on, and do a quick little snap under the ball. You will again hit the ball with your laces, but straight under the ball as opposed to at an angle. This is obviously easier if you see a video, so try YouTube.
Kicking with the inside of your foot is more accurate than driving, but it’s usually used to keep the ball low and controlled.

If you want to kick it long and far you need 1. Accuracy and 2. Power…You get power by squating at the gym (strenght training) and running you get accurcy by practicing and follow through and lean back if you want to lift it.. use your inside of the foot (instep/laces) and pull your leg as far back as you can and srike it underneath the ball. Don’t go straight at the ball, go at it like at an angle like runing to it diagonally you will swing your leg better this way and send it far and high as long as you strike it underneath in the center.
