I’m looking at some results from world cup qualifying and trying to make sense of the scores. They will say somthing like 5:0 (2:0). I get that the 5:0 part is the final score of the match but what does the (2:0) part mean?

I played soccer for six years and one goal equals one point, very simple.
the (2.0) part would have been the score at half time, or if the match was a two leg game then (2.0) would of been the score after the 1st game
the score at half time
“thats it basicaly”
a 2 legged game is usualy played for qualifiers; one home, one away
The score at half time… every time a team scores they get one point.
the score in brackets is the score at half time
football is the most simple sport to follow
because if a player scores a goal he gets ONE goal for his team
not 2/3/etc.
