Before most EPL and UEFA CL matches that I watch on TV the players escort kids onto the field with them and I don’t understand why. Thanks in advance.

One thats by a professional football club where you go to school there and live there. I’m playing for my county at 14 years old and my coach thinks I have talent to be able to get into a academy for full time… how do I get into one? and how can I tell my parents who want me to go to school that I want to become a footballer?
