What’s the purpose of that big circle in the middle of the football(soccer) field?

I play and watch football but I never knew, it looks useless to me, just like those small semicircles around the box, what are those for?

When they kick off, opponents must be outside the circle.

The semicircles in front of the box mark the are where there can be no opponents when a penalty ids being taken.

To keep the opposing team out fduring a kickoff.

It’s all about the 10 meter rule. When a team has the kick off, the opponents must be atleast 10 meters away. The centre circle has a 10 meter radius.
It’s the same application for the semi circle. The length from the penalty spot to the semi circle is 10 meters. But of course, the opponents aren’t allowed into the penalty area during a penalty take. So the cirlce does not have to be extended beyond the box.
